Cat Trust Issues: Wait or Cage?

Hi! So I recently adopted a 9 month old cat last month. I found out after she was brought to my place that she was bullied by another cat/her half sister and might be traumatized? And in the span of 6 weeks, I still haven't been able to touch her.

Whenever I'd try, she'd jump and run away. She eats out of my hand though, and when there are no guests over at my studio apartment, she comes out of hiding and plays with her toys, sniffs me sometimes and just walks around. If i make a sudden move or walk towards her, she'd sometimes run away, but overall we're like roommates

As of last week, she's started meowing at me every morning when i'm fixing her breakfast. I guess to hurry me up? She went from dead silent to that so o guess that's progress?

The thing is she still hasn't had any of her shots. And i really wanna get her up to date and healthy. Before i got her she was spayed and got anti-rabies at least

Now to my q: one vet said just wait. Don't force hee into a carrier or call a vet in because that may breakdown all the trust i've built. Just wait and hope?

Another said to cage her and keep her in a cage fro 2 weeks to a month, so that she'll learn i'm her source of everything. Maybe that'll socialize her?

From your experience, whose advice do you think i should follow?
