The title says it all. I have a nine-year-old cat who's been using his uncovered litter box for years now. He had a covered one when he was about two years old, and there didn't seem to be any problems. I've bought him recently the new one, and thought that he should have a "transition" period - it was kept uncovered. I brought the cover back yesterday, and since then when he has to go the loo he argues with me (literally) and refuses to go inside. As a sign of his protest, he peed in front of the entrance door today (he actually does this from time to time, and I really need to stop this habit of his, but I'm not sure how).
