I adopted a dog from the shelter a few days ago who was said to be good with cats but after a couple days, lunged at one and then the other of my cats. They are now separated, with her (70 pound lab) in an exercise pen. I called a personal trainer who said the dog needs two weeks to decompress in the pen and then we can work on things.
But does it work? Can a dog be trained to not attack cats?
