Hi everyone,
So, in December my husband and I will be moving to a military base. This base allows only 2 pets per household. We have 4 between us.
He has his rescue cat, Kitty, he's had 2ish years ( domestic shorthair, grey and white with stripes, chubby, sweet ).
I have a small dog, Sam, that I've had 2ish years who belonged to my late granny ( 6lb, white, very lovable ). I also have 2 rescue cats, Juju for 7 years ( black longhair, very finicky and is a total cuddle muffin for me, but very finicky) and Georgia for 6 years ( domestic shorthair, tortoiseshell, plays fetch, has anxiety ).
So I'm asking for advice.. how do we choose who goes and who stays? I've worried for weeks over this. I hate that it's even a possibility, but that doesnt change the fact that it might happen. So, two options I've come up with are:
We keep Sam (sentimental) and Juju (black cat) and rehome Kitty and Georgia because they are both sweeties and would likely find homes quickly.
OR
He keeps Kitty bc she was technically his only pet and I keep either Sam or Juju.
I am very attached to my pets, as they really have been one of the only constants in my life. So, any advice or new perspectives on this predicament would be greatly appreciated. It is possible that we could find a home off base that allows 4, but it's pretty unlikely. Thanks in advance to anyone that comments.
