I posted here a few days ago about what I need for the cat I've just adopted (I brought him home yesterday).
I have a new problem now. I knew before I got him that he was a feral cat that had been rescued, but the thing is -- he's terrified of me, my boyfriend, and any noises (loud or quiet) that he hears.
He spent all of yesterday and last night under my couch. I fed him this morning and with LOTS of coaxing, he let me pet him and I even swaddled him for a short amount of time, but once I let him down, he ran straight under the couch again, and refuses to come out.
I just want him to know he's safe, and I want him to trust us. What else can I do? I know patience is key, but I'm already getting discouraged and I'm worried he'll never trust me / always be super skittish.
Any help and advice would be VERY helpful, thanks in advance! :)
