basically, we ended up having to give away my cat I had for 6 years because she got very territorial with the other cat we have (had for 4 years) and started peeing everywhere in our house. this went on for upwards of a year. my parents ended up taking my cat to the local humane society (without telling me but that’s besides the point). I had a very strong attachment to this cat and have been extremely upset about this - it’s been about a week at this point.
how do I get over the grief of having to give my cat away? it’s a no kill shelter which eases my nerves but i’m afraid she will get adopted by someone who won’t care for her like i did. I keep thinking about how she is most likely scared & confused. if anyone has any advice, that would help a lot.
