I rehomed my dog. Picked him up today from the shelter. The cat we have is being really standoffish even though the cat and dog lived together before.

Rehomed my dog. Shelter called today. He was turned in by someone because him and another dog were wondering the streets/woods for several days.

Dog lost A LOT of weight. Immediately took him to the vet. He's okay but weak and he was neglected.

He lived with the cat for several months. They used to sleep together.

When dog came home, cat went upstairs and refused to come down for hours. I brought her downstairs. When she came down, she arched her back, expanded her fur and hissed. She's never done that before.

Dog is a giant breed so the cat isn't making an attempt to fight him. She is avoiding us (S/O and I) and went back upstairs to my bed.

Dog was here before cat (before i rehomed him). He always lays next to me on the floor when I'm on the couch and sleeps beside my bed. They got along before.

When dog left, cat became attached to my hip and will only sleep with me at night.

Is this a jealousy thing? If so, any tips on reintergration?
