Kitten Diarrhea

Hello, I am looking for any advice on this situation. My kitten is 8 weeks old, 2.2 pounds. I got him Tuesday, had a vet visit Thursday for all the tests and shots. Came back negative for parasites and whatnot from stool sample.
Well that evening he had diarrhea. And as of this late afternoon, he still has it.
Now, I am figuring it is because of his change to the food I've gotten for him. I haven't had a kitten in over 14 years, and haven't had a cat in 7ish years. So I am rusty in everything. And the one thing I forgot, was to find out the food from the person I got him from, and gradually introduce mine. Major mess up on my part, and now I am in overly worried mode since he still is having diarrhea 24 hours later.
So I am wondering if anyone has any experience to share with me, should I call the vet and get him in asap tomorrow morning? Or should I try to wait it out a bit longer and see if he has adjusted to the new food?

I am naturally a worry wort, add in I've really gotten attached to this kitten already, I'm getting panicky, overly stressed worried on trying to figure out what to do.

Also may or may not be significant, he is sleeping a lot. But if I remember right, kittens sleep a ton anyhow right?
And also might add he has played a few times today, so he isn't completely sleeping all the time. And he is drinking water and eating his food.
