So my partner just discovered the dreaded flea dirt this morning and we have spent the day researching flea mitigation, bought the necessary materials, and I think we have a pretty good game plan for the next couple of weeks.
A couple of questions I couldn't find an answer to, however:
1) we're in the process of putting all our closeted clothes into garbage bags to bring to our washers in the basement (our cats had access to walk in the closets). While everything is bagged up we're going to do the first round of vacuuming the whole house and then do some spraying.
After the clothes have been washed, do they have to be quarantined away from our apartment for the next couple of weeks? Would it be enough just vacuum and spray the closets and then bring the clothes back (still in garbage bags) and then prevent the cats from entering the closets again?
2) when are clothes are deemed clean, should we think about changing into clean clothes outside of our apt in order to lower the risk of getting fleas in our car/jobs/friends houses?
Truth is I just dont know how hard I have to go in order to prevent the spreading.
Any info would be great!
