Small PSA it seems dumb but could become such a problem
My grandparents have a cock a poo. So she‘s shaggy around the paws because the paws are the area where she does NOT like to be touched. Fair enough. Some dogs are like that. I’m not here for paw playing advice it’s been eight years of this we’re beyond help on that front.
They found a place that seemed to be doing a good job of things (aka she had been kicked out of multiple grooming places for being too difficult- this one has kept her for a while now)
Today my grandpa noticed Pupper limping a little and checks her paws to see if something was in it- we’re at a cabin so yeah she could’ve stepped on something. I go over to help because I know she can be a bit snippy about this.
We discover that the place that they’ve been taking her to get her nails cut haven’t been cutting her Dew claws so they were curling back on both of her feet- one was worse than the other.
Luckily my mom had her clippers and my brother managed to hold the dog steady, despite his shorts being anal-glanned because of it.
It’s an understandable thing due to all the factors, but jeez. Be vigilant everyone!
TLDR My grandparents groomer hadn’t been clipping her dew claws to the point where they curled into her foot Sometimes simple things can be missed or messed up Check to be sure people are doing the right jobs on your dogs. Their safety and comfort is important and simple things sometimes
