A rant about people who don't know how dogs communicate.

This is just a quick (maybe not so quick) rant about something that happens to me multiple times a month at the dog park.

This is Kenji. He's the most well-mannered dog I know. A very good boy and loves to cuddle and give kisses.

Kenji is not an aggressive dog. At the dog park he rarely approaches other dogs and when he does it's just for a few seconds. He literally only cares about his ball/stick/frisbee (whatever he's carrying at the time) and only focuses on getting his toy and bringing it back.

I am sick and tired of owners allowing their dogs to try and steal his toys, and then acting surprised when Kenji starts growling at their dogs. There have been so many occasions where dogs will try to outrun him to his ball or even try to take it from his mouth. A lot of the times afterwards they tell me something like, "Oh.. your dog isn't very nice is he?" My dog is plenty nice. He couldn't care less about other people/dogs wandering the park. He does care about your dog trying to steal the only thing he wants when he's out for a walk.

He never bites dogs and never acts aggressive randomly. Please do not call my dog aggressive when he is just telling your dog to stay away from his property. He's older, nine years old, and just wants to play without being bothered. If somebody were to steal my purse, would I be called out for trying to fight against my attacker? No! Is anyone else with me?
