I’ve adopted a kitten (4 months, has one eye) and my current cat (2.5) is absolutely terrified of her. I’ve had them separated, kittens chilling in the bathroom. She’s fine, not scared at all and dying to get to the rest of the apartment. My cat on the other hand has spent the last couple of days hiding, despite the kitten being locked in a separate room. I tried putting her food in front of the door to the kittens room but she just won’t eat if I do that, tried giving her treats, tried catnip, tried some scent swapping which went fine but didn’t really improve anything. She hasn’t hissed or anything, she’s a really big scaredy cat, like hides anytime there’s a knock at the door, and has hid in drawers when people visited my apartment, and I just want her to feel comfortable and stop hiding from a cat who can’t even get to her.
I know the answer is probably wait but I really want them to get along, if there’s anything else I can do to make her more comfortable please let me know.
