My chihuahua who was 9 years old past away today. My grandma fed him pork bones from thanksgiving (I didnt know about this) yesterday and my mom told me he’s been throwing up some bone pieces about 15 times over night. The next morning he threw up once. I picked him up after watching him for a while, and he fell asleep in my arms which has never happened. I sat with him and layed him down, and moved him time to time noticing he became weaker with breathing problems, and acted like a ragdoll. I knew that it was serious and my mom and i took him to a vet, with the closest one near me being closed and had to go farther. About down the street, he urinated, I haven’t seen him blink, and croaked. I knew this was it. The vets tried CPR and told my family he was gone, and likely bone chunks in his esophagus was the cause. Very heartbreaking for all of us as he had much more life in him. Was this my fault? I could have taken him myself but waited for my mom. I assumed he had recovered as he threw up less
