So I adopted a feral cat as a kitten about 10 years ago. The shelter told us to have our kids play with him gently and to hold him like a baby as they thought he might be too old to become an indoor cat. I have a large coyote population near my house and have lost two cats. My husband has a new car and the cat has a habit of sitting on it and scratching it by accident when jumping down. We came up with the idea of keeping the cat inside when my husband is home from work and the car is here. Husband has been home since Thursday and the cat won't stop howling. He is fixed and we lock him out of our bedrooms and ignore him. We are debating letting him out again Monday but my husband has off the week of Christmas and we'll have to go through the whole process again. Should we just make him be an indoor cat or let him in/out? He's my husband's favorite cat and I worry about the coyotes but he's broken three (old) windows trying to get back outside.
