For the past 6 months my cat has had bloody stool. It’s not diarrhea, it’s solid poop and then bright red blood. She has now started to use the bathroom outside the box. On Saturday she started to puke bright pink blood. Not sure if that’s related. She eats solid foods. She is 13 years old and overall healthy. Any advice on what to do? Or what she might have.
I took her to the vet and they did an X-ray on her and her organs looked good and nothing compacted. They said she has arthritis and gave me Gabapeton and that did nothing for her.. I took her to a different vet who took blood work and checked her butt. She said she had some clogged glands but nothing bad enough or infected that would cause blood in the stool. She also said when she pulled out there was no blood. The only thing she found on her that was odd was that she had a growth in her mouth. She said she highly doubts those two are connected. She gave her a steroid and antibiotic shot to help with that and she said sometimes gastro problems can be treated with the shots and cats can get better...
My biggest thing is she won’t use the litter box. I’ve changed litter multiple times... even bought brand new boxes.... fed her different kinds of foods to see if that would help her.... at this point I’m tired of cleaning poop out of the box... she uses the box to pee though...
I am 8 months pregnant and haven’t cleaned the boxes cause of it but once the baby is born I’ll be back taking care of the cats and I’d like some idea of how to help this cat or if anyone has gone through the same thing with their own cats?? Help...
