Hello. I didn’t know where else to ask this because for some reason the chameleon forums site wont let me post so here goes. I really hope someone here knows about chameleons and they could help me. So about 2 weeks ago my family got a veiled male chameleon, who is 8 months old. The guy we bought him from has a lot of experience with reptiles, he has a lot of different reptiles at home and the one chameleon we got was one of the babies his female chameleon got 8 months ago, so I know for a fact he has been taken care of well and was not sick when brought to home. Anyways, the guy also custom built us a big glass cage with the right lightning and some branches that he could climb on. He was doing just fine, eating normally and he really liked to come out of his cage. Very friendly chameleon and suprisingly fast. Usually when I go in “his” room where his cage is located, he always climbs down already to a little branch because he wants to come out and climb on me. Now we didn’t like the way the cage looked like inside so we decided to redecorate it and make it more comfortable for him, because the branches that came with his cage in the beggining were getting really messed up and it was starting to get hard for him to move around there. So we took him out and cleared out the cage, he was sitting on top of my head the whole time, watching the process. So we put new branches and a plant and one fake flower thingy, idk how to call it, but now he has more room to move and climb. After redecorating the cage he immediately climbed inside and got curios and started climbing around the cage, on the plant and branches but he didn’t eat anything anymore that day. I figured it was because of the redecoration and he needs time to settle with the new cage. But now 3 days have passed and he hasn’t eaten a thing. We have fed him roaches, crickets and worms usually and when some days he has been moody he has still eaten worms. But now he hasn’t even eaten the worms. He is starting to get kinda skinny and it’s worrying me. He is still active, comes out of the cage and climbs on us and explores around but he wont eat. Is this still because of the new cage or is there something else bothering him? I’m really worried, because I really don’t know anything about chameleon behaviour yet because I’m a new owner. I hope someone can help me here.
