Dog peeing/pooping in the house. How to treat separation anxiety?

Hi all, can’t figure out what to do about my 10 year old greyhound. We have had her since she was 5 but about a year and a half ago she started having accidents in the house regularly. We have to block off every area of the house that’s carpeted or she will go to the bathroom on it if we leave the house or aren’t downstairs with her for an extended period of time.

  • She has been checked by the vet; it is not a health issue.
  • This isn’t an issue with her not being able to go outside often enough; it will occur even if she went out immediately prior to us leaving (and the poop is practically diarrhea so we know she is forcing it out)
  • Blocking off all carpets just leads her to go on her beds or the hard floor, though less frequently than if a carpet is available
  • Crating her just results in needing to bathe a crap covered dog when I get home
  • the thundershirt didn’t help

We are thinking it must be separation anxiety but the pheromone collars/plug ins haven’t worked. We have tried the calm pup treats but they didn’t work either. Any other ideas on what to do with this dog? I have a baby that’s about to start crawling and can’t have her on a soiled floor.
