Feline cystitis and life expectancy? Experiences?

I want to check in with other cat owners. My female tuxedo cat is about 13 or 14 years old. She was initially a stray I took in when she was a kitten.

In the past year she's started having these episodes of yowling, then pees small puddles of bloody urine outside the litter box until a small jelly-like clot emerges, then she's fine. Usually these episodes come on suddenly, last about 30 minutes, and then resolve suddenly. She behaves completely fine before and after, and she's otherwise healthy.

Earlier this year I took her to the vet on two separate occasions and both times they said no infection was present. They guessed it was feline cystitis. Now I'm wondering if this is something that will eventually lead to her death because it doesn't seem like there's much to do about it. I've followed the vet's instructions, like giving her wet food, more water, toys to play with, etc but the episodes seem to be increasing in frequency. It happens about once a week now.

Has anyone else dealt with feline cystitis and did it signal worse health problems in the long run? I don't know what else to do.
