Please help me. I have no idea where to turn to. My girlfriend moved in a couple months ago and eventually brought her cats to live in. It turns out they're both specials needs cats.
One is a fluffy white ragdoll and the other is a tiny orange tabby. Every night, the ragdoll will cry for hours on end, loudly. I'm mildly allergic to cats and try to keep the amount of time they're on the bed to a minimum, but it's gotten to the point where I let him sleep with us. But even then, if we don't close the door he'll go cry outside my roommate's door downstairs or he'll pick a fight with my roommate's cat. If we do close the door, he'll cry to let him out. It's gotten to the point where no matter what we do, he wakes us both up several times every night until we do something.
The orange tabby is quiet and relaxed, but he poops EVERYWHERE. In the beginning, he peed anywhere but the litter box. My gf eventually changed litter types and now he pees in the box, but he poops everywhere. We keep him in my office and night and when we're at work then clean up with plastic bags/paper towels/lysol after every single day. I get home before her, so it's either I clean it up, or the office smells awful. She has a room too, but it doubles as the guest room and we don't want the guest room to smell.
It's getting to the point where I think I have to ask her to move out. I've lost so much sleep and I'm tired of picking up cat poop off hardwood every day. What can I do?
