It is very unnerving when your dog just stands still and stares intently at the front door for several minutes in the middle of the night.

What does he know that I don't? Is there someone out there? Who knows. Definitely not me. Possibly the dog.

Is this a thing dogs do? It is very unusual behaviour for him.
