I've had cats my entire life. I love them so much. I have a six year old cat right now who is my favorite thing on the planet.
I got a new kitten about a month ago. He's a 4 month old abysinnian. He has so many toys, I play with him every single day, and him and my adult cat play together constantly. And yet. While I'm away at work he destroys fucking everything. He's chewed through my mouse cable, 2 sets of earbuds, 3 rags, 2 pairs of house pants, about 12 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of gloves, and a winter hat.
I barely have enough socks to cover a work week as of tonight. I can't afford to keep replacing this stuff. Every time I think I kitten proofed something, he just figures out how to ruin it again. Part of me loves him but part of me is truly and deeply starting to hate him. Coming home every day is just a fucking nightmare because I'm instantly furious every time I walk in and my stuff is destroyed and scattered across my apartment. I have no idea what to do. I've never had such a cunt of a cat.
I don't scream at him, I don't hit him. I'm not doing anything to him that would cause behavioral problems. I love cats. I know how they work.
What the fuck can I do with this kitten? I'm at my wits end with him. I've seriously considered sending him back to the breeder and I really, really don't want to. When he's being sweet, he's the best but I simply can't afford to keep this up financially and emotionally. I'm just too mad all the time.
