About two weeks ago my other cat was diagnosed with beginning kidney failure. Because of this, we had to give her special food and because it can’t be given with other food, we had to put the other cat on that food as well. He’s a big eater, and we went from free feeding to giving them special food twice a day. My other cat unfortunately didn’t make it, but my vet said that we could use the food for the other cat as well because he’s 13 already. I noticed he was a bit overweight so we decided to stay on twice a day. However, he is constantly begging for food. Being super clingy, which is something I can handle (though it makes my cat allergy worse). But he’s also constantly meowing. I was just working on school and the entire time he was just sitting next to me meowing for food. Is there anything I can do to make it easier? Would it be smart to give a little bit of extra normal food? We didn’t really have time to transition him slowly because the other cat couldn’t eat different food and at the time, it seemed smart to just continue the same amount with the other cat instead first giving more again and then slowly less. If someone has some advice, that’s be great.
