I had a 4 month old kitten and, for a month, Ive been taking care of her and have essentially become her favorite person in the house.
I brought her sister to move in not too long ago so that she can have someone to play with. They run around a lot and the initial territorial fighting/ hissing that happens when you introduce a new cat has mostly stopped.
Both kittens are healthy (at least from what I’ve seen), but my problem is my first cat. Ever since the arrival of her sister, she’s grown jealous to the point that she no longer wants to sit on the bed with me (she would snuggle with me all the time). I’m betting its because she feels replaced. I keep trying to give her equal attention, but she brushes me off. She seems hurt and depressed (shes not as nimble or energetic when I play with her anymore) and I wanna know the proper cat owner’s way of cheering her up and reassuring her that I love her just as much as I love the newcomer. (I understand that cat psychology is different from human psychology).
Any suggestions would be a big help.
