hey, everybody. Gonna try and make it short but first a little background: i have a 10 year old pom and she’s lived with me her entire life, and ever since a puppy she never got along with other dogs. barking any time she saw one, like aggressive barking, it just looks like she’ll kill anything that gets close to me or her. She wouldn’t actually because, again, she’s an old lady now, a Pomeranian who weighs roughly 10 pounds, and is sweet but she just for some reason hates dogs.
well anyway, me and my family moved into a house 3 years ago and conveniently my neighbors have a huge dog. not sure the breed but big, especially compared with my little Pomeranian lol. We have a white plastic picket fence dividing the two backyards but it isn’t sturdy and these two dogs can’t ever be out at the same time because if they hear each other they start barking and my neighbors big dog starts to jump on the fence and the entire fence will shake and the dog at one point has actually damaged the fence. My neighbors have been kind and understanding and even taught their dog to not start the fight but honestly my dog is such a bitch she taunts my neighbors and i guess a dog can only take so much and she’ll begin to get annoyed with my dog and it’ll just start again.
Is there a way for me to train my dog to stop barking at the other dog? Nothing I’ve tried works and I’m tired of not being able to let my dog outside by herself or be worried that one day I’ll allow her out and won’t have her come back because of the fence being knocked down and there being a deadly dog fight between our babies. I’m willing to try anything at this point :(
