I’m going to buy a puppy from a old neighbor who’s mutt had some babies. I’ve always been able to train my dogs really easily and get them to ‘understand’ that they can go walk by themselves but can’t follow strangers and to runaway from frogs. I had only had one dog who couldn’t grasp this concept and it was awful ironically she was the only dog that wasn’t a mutt. Is there any way to tell when a puppy will be smarter/obey more than other dogs? I haven’t tested this out yet but I always noticed my smartest dogs would look up a lot, like just look up at the sky or the ceiling while the others kept their head on a horizontal swivel. Maybe it was really that some dogs physically can’t look up? Let me know your thoughts and opinions on spotting a smart pup!
