I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I am in lockdown in the USA and concerned for my cat. It is my cat, Lollipop's, 15th birthday today. I just returned back to my house in Colorado from school in Georgia because my school closed due to coronavirus. I haven't seen Lollipop in about 3 months since winter break. During winter break I took her to the vet because she was getting tufts of fur in clumps all over her body, and, after running many blood and urine tests, the vet said that she had early onset kidney disease. We followed the vets special kidney disease diet and the tufts have almost all gone away.
Since I returned on Tuesday she has laid down with me whenever I sit down, and in general follows me wherever I go. I have always been her favorite in my household, but whenever I sit down she sits on my lap and leaves only very occasionally. She seems to be more affectionate than usual, and I am concerned that there is an underlying reason she's only hanging out with me almost constantly. She is no longer hanging around my parent and won't leave my lap even if I am not petting her. Her nose is not wet and I am concerned that there is something wrong. However, I am hoping she is just being more affectionate than usual because she missed me (although she has not been this affectionate in the past when I have returned from school).
Can any vets give me any advice?
