Don't know how else to put it. Me and my husband have 2 dogs, a 3yo bully and a 18month old yellow lab mix (both F). My husband travels quite a bit for work (he is usually gone a total of two weeks a month) and when he travels I usually have no problems with the pups. I leave them in the Am have someone check up on them mid day and I'm usually home by 4. No problems.
Our lab is going through a chewing faze but nothing crazy, just a few lost shoes and the occasional destroyed mail. However....
Over New Years I went away to see a friend leaving my husband alone with the dogs. Lab destroyed our google home. Super out of character for her to go after something like that.
Now I'm away for a short three week job and I got a call yesterday after being away for 5 days that our Lab has DESTROYED our couch. She has never done anything even close to that kind of level of damage before.
I know its separation anxiety from me being gone but it's still annoying. Looks like we will have to start crating her which sucks.
Anyone out there have an advice for a dog suffering from separation anxiety? Thanks.
