My dog had a mass removed from her leg at the vet. She came home with a cone/collar and 2 staples in her leg. The collar wasn’t long enough to keep her from licking her hind leg, so we bought the longest one we could find. She can still reach it. She’s licked a staple out, and the wound has started bleeding a couple times.
Since I’m home now, I have been keeping her as distracted as possible with peanut butter filled kongs, etc. I tell her to leave it everytime I catch her licking. I think she does most of the damage at night.
I’ve considered using a ace bandage, but afraid she would eat part of it or something. She’ll eat anything. What can I do?
