I have a 6 month old Chow Chow. He gets hot easily and sleeps on cold tiles or prefers a cooling mat to a dog bed and often sits out in cool wind for ages. He has a doggy door to go out to pee. He is completely toilet trained. He is very rarely at home alone because he comes with me most of the time, but I went out for dinner tonight and it started raining heavily. When I got home he wasn't inside. I found him asleep outside in the rain. He was completely drenched, but it was like he had no idea.... very nonchalant about it raining. It was raining for 3-4 hours. I don't know if he was outside the whole time, but let's assume he was. I dried him off with a towel, but am worried he could he get sick from being outside in the cold and wet weather?
He has a dog kennel outside but hates it and has never used it. There was nothing wrong with the doggy door either so he was very capable of coming back inside but oddly stayed outside.
