I think they are afraid that if they take her to the vet they’ll have her euthanized immediately. She has labored breathing and has lost a lot of weight in the past few months, but is still eating and loves having company.
My little sister has a behavioral disorder, she’s 10 years old and our cat is her best friend. We also lost our grandmother five months ago, and she is extremely sensitive now. The idea of taking our cat to be euthanized and forcing her to say goodbye is terrifying for her.
Is there anything we can do to make a peaceful passing at home possible? She is absolutely terrified of the vet, we haven’t taken her in five years. Last time she cried the whole drive and puked in the office. I don’t want to fill her last day with anxiety by making her go back there.
