My boyfriend and I adopted a cat a few days ago and she is so sweet and basically perfect. However, we have a rule that started with his dog: no pets in the bedroom. He is mildly allergic and just not comfortable with sleeping with a cat, so it’s fine and I agreed right away that kitty would not be joining us in the bedroom.
However, the new cat does not agree with this rule, and every morning around 6am starts pawing at the door and crying to be let in. Even if I get up and feed her, she eats for a minute then get back to mewing and pawing to be let in.
Will this go on forever? How can I get her to stop? I love this cat and so does my boyfriend, if she were allowed to sleep in bed with us there would be no problem but bf won’t have it so we need another solution. She is 1 year old.
