Hi everyone,
I just wanted to make sure my 10 month old male cat (BB) isn't harming my new 8 week old kitten (Muffin) when they play fight etc.
Now, I know that neck biting is showing dominance and BB does that, but it is sometimes pretty violent and Muffin meows out quite loudly. His ears are sometimes folded back when he bites too, which I've been told isn't a good sign.
Other than that, they chase one another back and forth, BB trills when he sees her and when he tries to start some friendly play. Muffin will trot after him even after some of the more rough neck biting, they will sleep in the same room, they freely use each others water bowls and litter trays... so I'm not sure how to feel. Just wanting to make sure that what I'm doing is okay (I clap loudly when it gets too crazy which scares BB off temporarily).
We've only had Muffin for a week, so I know the behaviour will dissipate over time. I leave them unattended only when I sleep and they seem fine in the mornings, aka no injuries or anything like that.
Thanks in advance for any reassuring advice/feedback, it is much appreciated!
