Some background: I have two cats; they have well-established territories and "neutral zones" where they can sit by one another. They are usually fine around each other and can even fall asleep near one another on the same cat tree. Both cats are around 4 years old, 1 year difference in age. The older one will be Lily, the younger is Jack.
Now for the dilema: Whenever Jack gets angry or overly energetic at something he attacks Lily until she hides under a table or couch. To make matters worse, now Lily is afraid to even be near me because whenever I give her any attention at all, Jack will rush into whatever room we are at, see me giving attention to her, and attack her until she is hiding again. I have to take Lily to the vet for some shots, but if I can't even be near her without her trying to hiss at me I won't be able to safely put her in her cat carrier. How can I fix this?
