I live in an apartment and 3 days ago my cat tried to shoot the gap behind me once I'd come into the apartment. She'd never tried anything like that, so I wasn't paying attention and the door closed on her head. I don't think it injured her, but it freaked her out. Now any time she hears the front door when I leave or come back, she panics and hides under my bed and will make distressed meows.
It makes me feel terrible and guilty any time I have to leave my apartment. Is this something she'll get over on her own?
