Diabetic Cat

Hello,

My cat has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and we have them on insulin and wet food twice a day. We have a glucose curving appointment next Thursday and the vet mentioned that this will be fairly common in the beginning stages to make sure the insulin is working and the glucose levels are stabilized. I was quoted $129-$169 for my glucose curving appointment and was wondering if getting pet insurance is something worth looking into. I want to be optimistic and hope that my cat goes into remission and the vet appointments aren’t as frequent but paying $129 every two weeks is not doable for me during this crisis. I had a little pet savings account for my cat but I’m burning through it fast and that’s making me anxious. Is $129 reasonable for a glucose curving appointment? Should I get pet insurance? If anyone has any guidance or insight, I’d greatly appreciate it as having a diabetic cat is all very new to me. I love my cat to death and will do everything I can to keep providing him treatment but I’m just wondering if there’s a most cost-friendly option.
