We have a 6 year old basset hound and a 15+ year old mix breed. Both are females.
The girls get along well. The older dog is as sharp as a whip, spiteful, and can outrun any member in my family. However, she hates when our younger dog plays. We make a joke that there’s no fun allowed in our house. She will run up, bark and growl at our basset until she stops playing. Earlier last week, this happened and for once our basset stood up for herself and barked back and didn’t take her shit.
Usually, the girls sleep in my sisters room together. The night this happened, our basset slept with me.... and she has continued to do so on an every other night basis. I’ve been taken aback, she hasn’t slept with me since being a puppy.
Is this due to the “argument” or is there some other reason?
