Hey guys, I am a dog walker and pet sitter (I own a company with a friend) who is shutdown at the moment and extremely bored. I’ve also been selling and delivering homemade dog treats to my clients to help keep myself afloat. Wanted to share the most successful recipes:
All of these doughs should form a ball that is easy to manipulate and barely sticky. Add flour if sticky. You can’t manage most of this easily without a food processor or blender, but it’s possible ;)
——Peanut butter treats: - 1/2 cup 100% peanut butter - 1/4 cup coconut flour OR 1/2 ground rolled oats/ rice flour (grain free v. wheat free) - 1/4 cup pumpkin purée - 1/8 cup potato starch - 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
350° for 10 minutes (flip halfway through) Then, flip again, and 250° for 5 minutes
——-Thanksgiving cookies: - 1/8 cup 100% peanut butter - 1/8 cup 100% almond butter - Approximately two slices of salt free/additive free turkey (food processed/blended/finely chopped) - 1/4 cup pumpkin purée - 1/4 cup sweet potato purée (I bake sweet potatoes then mash them up in a blender once cooled and peeled) - 1/4 cup coconut flour OR 1/2 ground rolled oats/ rice flour (grain free v. wheat free) - 1/8 cup potato starch - A small handful” of sugar free dried cranberries, finely chopped - 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
325° for 12 minutes (flip halfway through) Then, flip again, and 250° for 10 minutes
——-Pumpkin carrot cookies: - 1/2 cup pumpkin and carrot purée (carrots should be cooked, I like to add about 2/3 pumpkin, 1/3 carrot) - 1/4 cup coconut flour OR 1/2 ground rolled oats/ rice flour (grain free v. wheat free) - 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
350° for 12 minutes (flip halfway through) Then, flip again, and 250° for 10 minutes
