I have two small dogs. I’m currently hunkered down with a friend who has a medium sized dog who is currently on flea medication, my dogs are not at the moment.
As of about two days ago the dogs have begun itching excessively. Today I went to the pet shop and bought flea shampoo and flea collars for each. Per the advice of the store manager, I bathed them today with the flea shampoo and will be waiting 48 hours before putting the flea collars on them.
In bathing the dogs, I followed the shampoo instructions closely and left them lathered for 5 minutes before rinsing.
BUT, the problem is, post-bath...they are still itching as before. Even if the hypothetical fleas on them were taken care of with the shampoo, I would imagine it would take hours for them to be itching again IF they were to be reinvested with fleas, not minutes later.
Any insight??
