So tl:dr for some background here. My roommates and I had a cat (I suppose kitten since she was around 8-9 months old) that managed to get out of our place and well... she got hit by a car. She was super sweet but always really wanted to go outside but we hardly let her (and if we did we just held her in our arms) because we live near a busy highway. Anyways my brother let me have his 5 year old cat. He wanted to give her away anyways because he lives with two big dogs and she was always terrified of them.
Anyways sorry if this is long, but I haven't been able to move back to college because of the virus. So I have my brothers (well I guess my cat now) at my parents house. Problem is we have two chihuahuas. One of them doesn't mind the cat at all but the other one is terrified of her. But the cat is afraid of them as well. One issue I can think of is she is declawed in the front two paws (I didn't get that done for her and I HATE that my brother got that done to her, I don't approve of declawing like that). I think this obviously makes her feel more defenseless and scared. But the problem is she won't ever leave my room. I leave my door open all day and she only ever leaves at night when we all go to sleep including the dogs. Sometimes she comes out late at night when we are awake. I think its because she is afraid of the dogs.
So I was wondering what could I do to make her and the dogs get along? The one that is afraid of her won't attack her or anything, just look at her and sometimes shake. But when they make eye contact the cat sometimes hisses and runs or just runs away after a bit back to my room. So yeah I need some advice to get them to like each other and for the cat to feel like she can at least come out of my room and lay on the couch or something. I just feel bad for her staying in my room all day. I guess I don't need them to like each other since when I move back down to college I am taking the cat with me and we don't have any other pets. I just want them to be tolerant of each other I guess.
