Recently adopted a cat who meows for food all the time. I think she was previously being free-fed, but she's overweight so she's on a diet. I'm feeding her small meals multiple times like many experts recommend. However, she always wants more. Sometimes she wants more food an hour after feeding her. Every time I get up from my desk, she thinks it's meal time and starts meowing and moving to where the food bowl is. If I go to the kitchen area, she does the same thing since she knows that's where I get her wet food from. Sometimes trying to play with her using the rod-thingy works to some degree...
However, it gets worse at night where she just meows on and on. If I ignore her, she gets louder. At some point she stops, but still. She also wakes me up at like 4am-6am, which sucks. I don't want to disturb my neighbors, so I want to find a way to train her to stop meowing.
