My fiance and I adopted a new cat (about 1-2 years old, male, neutered, formerly a stray) about 3-4 weeks ago. He is very sociable and seems to enjoy being around people. Even if he goes off and does his own thing in a different room for a while, he will come around every once in a while meowing just to make certain that we're still in the house--and once he finds us, he'll go back to whatever he was doing. He has no problem taking naps near/next to us, and frequently follows us both around the house from room to room. He even runs over to us when when we get home from being outside the house. So, I assume that this all means he likes us back.
That all said, the one thing that my fiance is concerned about is his play style. He's a SUPER energetic cat--I mean, I've owned kittens & cats before, but never one as hyper and playful as this boy by a long shot. I would say around 15 or so times a day--maybe more--he will come over to my fiance or myself and start attacking our feet. I mean, grabbing with his paws, biting toes, flipping around and upside down and thumping his feet against our ankles. If we start walking while he's attacking, we end up dragging him with us, lol. Each onslaught lasts at least 5-10 minutes, or until we walk away and make our feet inaccessible to him. I don't mind it so much because he doesn't ever seem angry or annoyed when he does this--so I truly think he's just energetic and playing. But my fiance is wondering if this super-bitey behavior is normal, or if it's a sign/symptom of something more troubling? Any answers are appreciated!!
