Hey, I’ve also posted this in r/Cats but I’m desperate for help, hah!
I have 2 cats, brother and sister around 6/7 years old (we adopted them). Both are spayed/neutered and enjoy a mix of inside and outside time, they have a cat flap which we lock around 11pm, they usually come in by themselves by then, we call them in if not.
There’s a cat living nearby which is really interested in my female cat, we -think- it’s male, he chases her sometimes, she doesn’t seem too stressed about it but will hiss at him from our windowsill if he gets too close to the house.
Recently he’s been sitting on our driveway meowing loudly until the early hours of the morning (it’s currently 3am and he’s still going!!), if we go outside to shoo him away he backs off then comes back when we’re gone. My cat will sit on the windowsill and watch him but doesn’t seem too bothered until he comes near the house.
Does anyone know why this could be happening? What can we do about it? I don’t want to be mean to him, I kinda feel sorry for him but it’s also driving me insane having the meowing all the time!
