Moving with anxious pet

So in a few months (hopefully lockdowns will be over by then) I will be moving to another country. My cat has been with me for 10 years since he was a baby and I really would not feel right leaving him behind. He would be with my family but still, that’s my baby and my pet!

Anyway- since it’s overseas I will be flying and I don’t really know how I’m going to manage with my cat. These are my concerns:

1)He gets nervous very easily. Even on the way to the vet he will pee in his cat carrier. He goes outside so every couple of months I give him a quick shower and even in those 2-5 minutes he manages to pee. He doesn’t like being picked up or manhandled. I just know he will pee and poop all over his carrier the second we leave for the airport & definitely when he is separated from me on the plane. He’s a big boy (20lbs) so bringing him on the plane with me won’t be an option and even if it was he would just stink up the cabin.

2) he has NO self control when it comes to food and I have to really portion his food out throughout the day or he will eat everything in one go! Sometimes when i have to leave food out for whatever reason, he binges and throws up.

3) it will be a LONG 16 hour flight with a layover and second domestic flight. Will I be able to interact with him during this time? I know my cat and I know it would be upsetting for him to be stuck in his carrier for over a day, especially if he pees, poops and throws up in it.

Has anybody travelled overseas with a cat like mine and how did you handle it?
