I’m trying to make this cohesive but i’m upset so i’m typing through that.
My older dog had to get all her teeth removed because my parents never got them cleaned. My younger dog now has thick yellow plaque and her gums are bright red. I brought her to the vet for an unrelated issue and they said we need to get her teeth cleaned ASAP and will likely already need one of her back teeth extracted.
My parents just refuse to pay for it. My dad verbatim just said “i’m not paying to get her teeth cleaned, they can just fall out”. He told me if I wanted to get them cleaned I’d pay for it myself. I am in college and can’t pay for that. I DIDNT ask for either of our dogs. They brought them both home.
What can I do in the meantime to save my dog’s teeth? I love my dogs so much. I want what’s best for her. Her breath is awful and I don’t want to see her lose all of her teeth.
What can I do? Please help.
