Hello all, I am going to share a quick story about my cat in hopes to give people or find more information on this rare disease. This disease is so rare my cat is the 3rd in the world to be formally diagnosed with it. I got my kitty when he was 12 weeks old. When he hit about 16 weeks old he started growing a very small lump on his back. We took him to a vet and they said it is too small to do anything and it could be from his neutering surgery. The pound we got him from neutered him at 6 weeks old(which is too young). This lump continued to grow. At 10 months we took him back, they stuck a needle in it to see what fluid was there- it was all blood. My vet is extremely good and she was very concerned. She recommended us to the best surgeon she knew. We took him there a week after knowing this thing had to come off of him. We were told lumps on cats are usually almost always cancer until proven otherwise. We prayed it wasn’t cancer. He wasn’t even 1 year old yet. She did the surgery right away. The diagnosis was not cancer. It was progressive angiomatosis. It was on his spin. She took more than she expected to take off because it had fingers reaching towards his spin. It had not reached his spin yet thankfully. This was in July 2019. It is April 2020. He is doing wonderful, youd never know he had surgery. We pray it stays like this. We were told there’s a high chance it will come back and we would have to remove it again. We were told to bring him in if his walking ability is off at any point. Hopefully my cat can bring more light to this rare disease in the future. This is information for anyone who needs it. We also got a picture of the mass.. it looks completely black since it is a cluster of blood vessels. Wild!
