My 2-year-old cat was being lovey while I was working on my computer and I gave him a few pats and then gently moved him out of my way so I could keep typing and he was just sitting at my side. Without any provocation about a minute later, he suddenly slapped me hard in the shoulder, drawing blood even through my shirt. There is now a little bruise forming--he's a big, strong cat. I didn't make any sudden moves. I don't know what this was all about. I put him in another room after that because I had work to do. He's been quiet--he usually yowls when I put him out of the room. What was that all about? How do I prevent this happening again in the future? How am I supposed to respond if it does happen again? Thanks!
