A bird died in my hands today because our outdoor cat decided to use it as a chew toy...

Today was a hard one. Today marks one year since my cat Fredrick passed away. I figured I’d spend some time at home with my parents. I was hanging out outside when I noticed our outdoor cat was playing with something. I got closer to see what it was and it was a little bird. I picked it up to get it away from her. I didn’t really know what to do, so I held it for about 5 minutes. Then it seized up and died.

I know it’s just our cat being a cat, but that really sucked to deal with. The other day she decided to do the same to a nest of baby birds. I don’t know what to do with her. She was a stray that we decided to take care of. She pretty much came with the house. We’ve tried to keep her inside but she’s miserable and likes to be free. But this is constant. I don’t really know what the point of this post is.. maybe looking for advice on what to do or just venting.

Don’t get me wrong, I love her but she’s a murderous psycho kitty.
