Does anybody have experience with a cat exercise wheel?

I have two kittens and I've thought about getting them an exercise wheel (the brand One Fast Cat). I'm hesitant though because I'm not sure my cats would use it, and it's really expensive.

Both of my kittens do run around and chase each other (which can be annoying because they like to run over me when I'm sleeping). My girl especially seems to have a lot of restless energy lately. She doesn't really like playing with toys by herself, though she sometimes plays fetch (she brings me a toy for her to run after--I didn't teach her this, she just started doing it.) She loves to chase her string toy. Usually when I play with her, I drag the string up and down the stairs for her to chase. She seems to like doing that. She's started going to the stairs when I bring it out. She seems to never get truly tired of it. After running for several minutes and taking a small break, she's right back at it. I have to hide the string when we aren't playing or she's constantly bringing it to me to play with her. She does have a cat tree, a ton of scratches, and several interactive toys, but she doesn't care about them much.

I'm gone for a lot of the day, so I can't play with her all the time, and while she and her brother used to play a lot, he seems to be losing that energy. She's started getting a little destructive (pulling curtains down, shredding cardboard, crying and not seeming to want to settle). I'm not sure if she's picked these behaviors up just because, or if she is restless and trying to get her energy out somehow. I also live in my grandfather's basement, and will likely always be in an apartment, so there isn't a ton of running space.

So I've wondered if she might like the wheel as another way to get her energy out, but I also don't know if she's high energy enough to use it. When I see pictures of cats with them, it's usually Bengals, which I know are super active. She's just a normal tabby. Does anybody have experience with a cat who isn't very high energy still enjoying a cat wheel?
