Feline Tooth Removal

I'm looking for some advice and guidance. My 4 year old cat needs to have all of his teeth removed. He has been a very difficult eater since he was a kitten and part of the trepidation I'm feeling about removing all of his teeth is related to his eating quirks.

Once I knew he had dental issues and he was in pain, I tried to switch him to soft food exclusively but it never really took. He would still prefer his dry kibble even though it must have being very painful for him.

I have tried to prep him buy hydrating the kibble but he didn't like it didn't need it. I've tried different types of wet food but he just doesn't seem to be interested. I would have thought eating soft food would be a clear and easy choice for him if his teeth and gums were so sore and painful.

Those of you who have had to remove all of the teeth from your pet ... Can you tell me how you both got through it? What are some tips or tricks that I could use to help him through the transition from kibble to wet food?

How long did it take for your pet to get back to a new normal without teeth? This can't go on for much longer so I'm looking for any kind of advice before the extractions occur.
