I live with my boyfriend and his son who has autism. we have his son 3-4 nights a week depending on the week. his autism is not very “severe” (is that’s the word you wanna use), but he can be a little rambunctious. he is not in any way aggressive with animals, just is loud and active. this would not be a service animal. I’m looking for recommendations on small to medium dog breeds that would be better with an active kid. I would love to rescue, but I’m open to getting a puppy from a good breeder (I’d do tons of research). I do have a fenced backyard. just wanted to put this question out there and see if anyone has any advice for me :)
edit: I work from home so someone would be with the dog almost always, except when we make grocery trips or something like that.
